Budapest , capital of the Republic of Hungary is pretty not only because of the fabulous architecture that origins from the 19 th century, when Hungary and its neighboring country, Austria was set together in the Monarchy; the geographic characteristics of the place are usually pointed out when talking about this city. One part of the capital is hilly, the other one is flat: the connection between these spheres is a river that served for many artists as inspiration – it is the Danube . It was in 1772 when the actual city was created, and they were the bridges that gave a further motivation for both the social-economic and cultural development.
This summer we are going to talk about different types of bridges: connections among cultures, professions, aspects, perspectives and generations. This way this picturesque city embedded in scene landscape, serving as home for many different people is a perfect background for the event. Looking out from the windows of the university you will be able to get acquainted with the Gellért Hill and with the Bridge of Liberty; let this view provide us a constant reminder why we get together for the occasion: we will be there to look for opportunities, identify them and then connect them – because power, also future shaping power may evolve when we consciously focus on looking for connections in places, where different cultures, professions, individuals and groups meet each other. Budapest will help us to keep this in mind.
